Everest Mpari was a young graduate living far up north in Nigeria, supporting a family of four on a freelance copywriting income of under ₦100k. He was good at his work. Genuinely good. But good was never the same as secure.
Then he saw a post on Kryptr's Facebook page. He signed up. Roughly a year later, he was a Senior Analyst supporting the office of a Commissioner — sitting in rooms with senior government officials, reviewing programmes, making decisions that affect everyday Nigerians, and earning more than he ever dreamed.
The gap between where he was and where he wanted to be
Everest had a degree in Urban and Regional Planning and the kind of mind that could take a complicated problem apart and put it back together as something useful. What he didn't have was professional experience anyone could point to in consideration for a job offer. Copywriting kept the lights on. It was never going to take him where he wanted to go.
"Before I took ELITE, I was a freelance copywriter. Now I'm a Senior Analyst supporting the office of a Commissioner, and earning 10x what I used to earn."
What ELITE actually felt like from the inside
Almost everything was new to him. Consulting frameworks he'd never touched. Business writing — nothing like copywriting. Professional tools that were never part of the freelance world. But nothing was thrown at him to drown him. Every lesson was tied to something he'd actually do, by mentors who provided real-time feedback on his work. He didn't just learn the tools. He learned to use them.
Skills that transferred directly into his current role
"The concepts, consulting frameworks and work tools I was introduced to were totally new, but incredibly helpful — especially because the teaching and mentoring sessions were very insightful."
From programme to first opportunity
One of the things about the Kryptr experience is that it doesn't end at the last session. After completing ELITE, Everest was matched with Enzo Krypton and Company, one of Kryptr's hiring partners, where he joined as a Business Analyst. It wasn't a soft landing. He was doing real consulting work from day one — the exact discipline his ELITE training had been building for.
"All the skills I learnt during ELITE were primarily responsible for helping me secure the job."
Then he kept going
He didn't stop there. Within a year of finishing ELITE, he made a second move — this time into government, as a Senior Analyst supporting the office of a Commissioner. He now sits in rooms with government and international officials, reviewing programmes and feeding into decisions that shape the everyday life of ordinary Nigerians.
The same person who was writing copy to make ends meet up north now sits in the room when decisions that affect communities get made. It all started with a Facebook post and a decision to sign up.
"Everything I use in my current role — critical thinking, business writing, use of work and productivity tools — I learnt during ELITE."
